Order flowersHokitika, a Westland District town of about 3,420 people, is one of the wettest places in New Zealand, with more than 2,800 mm of rain a year spread evenly through the seasons. On a clear day, Aoraki / Mount Cook can be seen from the main street. Rain all year round is the first thing to plan for when sending flowers here.

The West Coast's main public hospital is Te Nīkau Hospital and Health Centre at 71 Water Walk Road, Greymouth, with a 24-hour emergency department. We have not found a published flower rule, so check with the ward before sending. Our Greymouth page covers deliveries there.
Allen Bryant (listed on Healthpoint as Alden Allen Bryant, formerly Ultimate Care Allen Bryant) at 45 Bealey Street is Ministry of Health certified for rest home and hospital-level care. Use the resident's full name and the home's name. In September 2025 Westland District Council approved in principle a new aged-care village on the former Hokitika racecourse; it is still at the planning stage, so do not send to it yet.
Hokitika (Seaview) Cemetery sits on an elevated site on Hospital Hill Road with views over the town and the Tasman Sea; the 1868 Westland Explorers' Monument stands at its entrance. Westland District Council runs it and other cemeteries in the district, and cemetery enquiries go to council customer services. For a funeral, send flowers to the funeral home or the family.
Arahura Marae near Hokitika is a Ngāi Tahu marae of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Waewae, with the Tūhuru wharenui. For a tangihanga, see our tangihanga guide.
Every January, Hokitika beach hosts the Driftwood and Sand Festival, where sculptures are built from beach debris, and the town has held an annual wild food festival since 1990. The Hokitika Clock Tower, built in 1902–03, is the town's most prominent landmark. More towns are on our West Coast region page.
Put the recipient’s ward, room or the funeral director’s name on the order so the florist can find them.
Busy days book out early, so order ahead for Hokitika.
