The Harcourts Geraldine Festival is a November weekend of art, photography and floral exhibitions, market stalls in the main street and Domain, open gardens and live music. In 2026 its photography competition runs on 13 and 14 November at The Lodge Theatre on Talbot Street. With open gardens and floral displays, festival week is a natural time to send flowers to someone here. Our seasonal flower calendar shows what is at its best in late spring.
The 11-hectare Geraldine Domain between Cox and Talbot Streets has gardens, a pavilion and the Serpentine Creek. Talbot Forest, within walking distance of the town centre, is the last remnant of the area's native forest, with tōtara, mataī and kahikatea, including one tree about 800 years old. Several hundred endangered native long-tailed bats live in Talbot Forest and other Geraldine sites.
Include the resident's full name and room. For dementia care, ask staff what is suitable before you order. If the person is in Timaru Hospital, flowers are delivered to patients as they arrive.
Geraldine Funeral Services is the local funeral director at 186 Talbot Street, and sympathy flowers can be sent there for a service. Geraldine Cemetery on Huffey Street is run by Timaru District Council; it takes burials and ashes interments, with burial services held Monday to Saturday. It contains Commonwealth war graves from both world wars, three from 1914–1918 and three from 1939–1945. The town's churches include St Mary's Anglican at 77 Talbot Street and St Andrew's Presbyterian, built of local stone in 1950, at 10 Cox Street. Our sympathy flower guide covers card wording, and our Anzac Day guide explains wreath traditions.
Put the recipient’s ward, room or the funeral director’s name on the order so the florist can find them.
Busy days book out early, so order ahead for Geraldine.
