Order flowersWarkworth, Puhinui, is a town of about 7,080 people on the Mahurangi River at the northern end of the Auckland region. It has a long orchard history: the Morrison family's Kenilworth orchard, established in 1935, is still operating, and their earlier Red Bluffs orchard was once the largest in New Zealand. Here is what helps when sending flowers to the town.

The Kōwhai Festival is held each spring beside the Mahurangi River. It was first held in September 1970, and the 2026 festival was on Saturday 17 October. If you are looking for something with a local touch, our guide to New Zealand's native flowers covers kōwhai and other natives.
The town's parks also have local stories: Lucy Moore Memorial Park is named after a local botanist, and Parry Kauri Park after Harry Parry, who campaigned for a park with kauri trees.
Two facilities in town are certified for rest home and hospital-level care:
Flowers are a lovely gift for residents. Include the resident's full name and room or wing if you know it, and a small arrangement in its own container is easier for staff to manage. If you are unsure, ring the facility first.
Warkworth Cemetery on McKinney Road is run by Auckland Council. In 2018 it had no unreserved body burial plots left, though ash plots were still available, and the council pointed families to the cemeteries at Te Kapa, Kaipara Flats and Puhoi. So a local funeral may be held some distance from town. Send flowers to the funeral home or the family rather than the cemetery; our sympathy flower guide explains why.
The next Warkworth A&P Show is on Saturday 20 March 2027 at Warkworth Showgrounds on Great North Road. Warkworth has an oceanic climate that is rainier in winter, so in the wetter months a note about a covered porch helps. Many recipients live on rural roads with RD addresses, which can take longer; weekend delivery is limited in many areas. For the town further north, see Wellsford, or our Auckland region page.
Put the recipient’s ward, room or the funeral director’s name on the order so the florist can find them.
Busy days book out early, so order ahead for Warkworth.
